We've worked with some great make up artists over the last few years and Jo Bilham has a gentle and friendly approach when it comes to bridal make-up.
Here at Married in Leeds, we're always fans of alternative wedding venues. Steeped in history with original beams and fabulous real ales,
They have a contemporary mezzanine full of cool grey hues and modern styling, they have an outdoor / in space perfect for canapes and mojitos that works whatever the weather, and not forgetting it's amazing art deco styling in the main lounge and bar.
Ceremonies can be held in the stunning wood panelled Presidential Boardroom - complete with stained glass ceiling domes (if you're having an art deco/vintage theme, this would be perfect) and guests never have to leave the hotel. Course, with all that amazing architecture just outside the front door, you'll want to head onto the street for some cool urban portraits too.
Married in Leeds went to meet the team behind bringing a bride's vision to life at the Radisson Blu recently to find out just what they have in store.
Introduce yourself... "My name is Alysa Waugh. I'm the Events Co-ordinator at the Radisson Blu in Leeds."
What's the best thing about doing the job you do? "There is a real opportunity to create beautifully tailor made weddings at the Radisson so I jumped at the chance to get this off the ground and help organise peoples amazing weddings and more importantly, ensuring their wedding vision comes to life."
What makes your business unique/stand out from the crowd? "We have a positive 'Yes we Can!' attitude where no request is too big or too small! We really do relish in a challenge and tackling the wacky and wonderful to make a bride's time with us memorable."
What plans do you have for the future of weddings at the Radisson? "With our beautiful features and art deco feel, we offer something truly amazing. We are lucky to have the foundations we have here and I plan to exploit this to offer something rare within a City Centre hotel. It has the potential to be amazing showcase of our creative wedding talents."
What do you think the future of the wedding industry holds for your business? "We want to turn the idea of hotel weddings on its head. We don't offer a 'one size fits all' package. We want to ensure that a couple's wedding is totally representative of them whatever their style may be. We have the facilities to offer something both special and exclusive - especially with our beautiful art deco and contemporary styling. We think with this kind of hands on approach and attention to detail, weddings at Radisson Blu will continue to thrive and grow."
Favourite part of the job? "I love to meet couples, listening to their ideas for their wedding day and how we can support them and make something special. Also I love to hear their engagement stories!"
What do you enjoy doing when you're not doing weddings? "Running, Walking, Reading, Sunny Beaches and being with my friends."
What do you predict the next wedding trend will be? "I think weddings will become much more intimate and every wedding will have its own special twist... I can't wait to see what this year brings!".
