Here at Married in Leeds, we're always fans of alternative wedding venues. Steeped in history with original beams and fabulous real ales,
We've worked with some great make up artists over the last few years and Jo Bilham has a gentle and friendly approach when it comes to bridal make-up.
Here at Married in Leeds, we see all kinds of amazing DIY at weddings. From brides who put together their own bouquets, hand knit the groom's tie, and ice the cake, to mums getting out the sewing machine to slave over metres of bunting, bridesmaids pitching in to make paper flowers and pinwheels, and grooms spending hours trekking down vintage typewriters and accessories in second hand shops. More and more brides and grooms are slaving over amazing diy projects on the run up to the wedding making chocolates for guests, and of course, creating that very individual, personalised table plan.
In fact, our brides and grooms are some of the most creative people on the planet!
Years ago, favours for guests, were little organza bags filled with sugared almonds. These days it's all about the personalisation. From home made honey and jam, to sloe gin and home brewed beer, wedding guests are getting much more than they bargained for.
If you fancy doing a little DIY for your wedding, there are lots of blogs with great tutorials to help you make everything from hand printed invitations, boutonnieres, jewellery, shoe clips... you name it, there's a tutorial for it.
So to give you a little DIY wedding inspiration, check out some of the amazing stuff our brides and grooms have done over the last few months.
